What is a HydraFacial treatment?
HydraFacial is a very popular advanced facial treatment. It removes dead skin cells and extracts impurities while simultaneously infusing the skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturising serums. The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non- irritating and immediately effective.The HydraFacial treatment is unique because it can effectively treat a wide variety of skin concerns with just one device. It was designed to incorporate the benefits of chemical peels, manual extractions, and microdermabrasion into a single treatment, but without the pain or irritation traditionally associated with them.
How Does a HydraFacial work exactly?
Traditional dermabrasion treatment will use small particles to erode the outermost layer of your skin. Think of it like sandblasting your skin. This type of abrasion reveals the more youthful looking skin underneath the top layer. And the end result is that your skin looks smoother, clearer, and more radiant. But it doesn’t exactly make your skin feel “good”. That’s one of the ways that HydraFacial really distinguishes itself from other dermabrasion treatments. Because HydraFacial is a Hydra-Dermabrasion procedure, it uses fluids to cleanse your skin instead of harsher particles and grit. How long does a HydraFacial treatment take?

Does a HydraFacial hurt?
During the treatment, you may feel a cool, soothing scrub-like sensation. Some also may feel a slight tingling sensation during the application of the light chemical peel but there is no discomfort with the treatment at all. It’s often described as having your face lightly massaged.
Is the treatment customisable?
Yes! HydraFacial is absolutely customisable. This is also why every skin type is suitable for the treatment. It also allows us the freedom and flexibility to change and adjust the patient’s ongoing treatment plan as their skin changes and starts achieving their desired results.
What is the downtime after a treatment?
Most facials require some “downtime” because they can cause inflammation and cause your skin to look worse before getting better. This is not the case with the HydraFacial. Instead, the treatment is safe to do before an event, wedding, or just to treat and maintain your skin. This is because leaves your skin looking very hydrated with a nice overall “glow” to the skin. So, it’s perfect for those wanting to maintain beautifully clear skin without interfering with their everyday lives.
When will I see results?
Following your treatment, you can expect immediate and visible improvements in skin tone and texture. The HydraFacial glow usually lasts for around a week, making it the perfect pre-event or vacation treatment. How often can I have a treatment?
While a single HydraFacial treatment can give the skin instant radiance and glow, regular treatments are required to maintain this. For maximum long-lasting results, we recommend getting a HydraFacial treatment every four to six weeks.
Can HydraFacial reduce acne?
This is the perfect treatment for acne-prone skin because it can deeply cleanse the pores without drying the skin out. Dried out, dull skin from traditional acne- eliminating products and treatments are a thing of the past. With the revolutionary “Vortex-Fusion” device, the skin is moisturised while acne- causing gunk is simultaneously vacuumed from the pores, providing you with an unparalleled glow. After the treatment is finished, we use a Red LED light on your face for 20 minutes to reduce inflammation post treatment and added anti-ageing benefits. The Red LED light is effective at killing several types of bacteria that can collect in your pores and oil glands and cause breakouts. Plus, it’s very relaxing.
Does HydraFacial help rosacea?
If you’ve had rosacea for a while, you may already know that there are few cosmetic treatments that are gentle enough on your sensitive skin. HydraFacial is one exception. HydraFacial strikes the ideal balance between aggressive exfoliation and gentle skin rejuvenation and revitalisation, a balance that rosacea sufferers will welcome. It also supports new tissue growth helping in preventing rosacea flare- ups. HydraFacial may not eliminate your rosacea completely, but it will absolutely help soothe it.
Do I need to stop retinol?
Two days prior to your treatment we recommend that you stop applying any retinol/retinoid creams, active or acidic skin products. Since these types of products can sometimes cause your skin to be more sensitive than usual and this may prevent you from receiving the best treatment and results.
What other areas are suitable for a HydraFacial treatment?
In addition to the face, HydraFacial can treat the neck, decolletage, back of hands – as well as the upper back and shoulders (typically for those with acne or congested skin).
Does it matter where I get a HydraFacial?
Just as with peels, laser treatments, IPL, and other medical grade skin treatments, a HydraFacial machine does not automatically produce a good result. The person doing your treatment is as important as the technology, if not more so. Any practitioner who performs HydraFacial treatments should have extensive knowledge and experience in treating the skin of various conditions. This lowers the risk of complications and undesirable outcomes. Unfortunately, too many clinics have inexperienced staff performing skin treatments for issues like pigmentation, sun-damaged skin, large pores and skin texture rejuvenation with varying degrees of experience.
